Christian is the exception to Tiffany's rule that all males are louses. For years Tiffany has lusted after Christian and of late she can't help but wonder what it might be like to have a brief fling with him. The opportunity to explore her secret fantasy appears when Christian offers her a job as the IT person for his practice, the V clinic. She knows if he gives her the green light, she's going to have a romp with her sexy vampire. When the night finally arrives and she and Christian have sex, the experience is so overwhelmingly powerful, Tiffany backpedals and tries to turn down the heat between them. She's human. He's a vampire. She can't afford to fall in love with him.
Christian has other ideas. During their sexual encounter, he discovers Tiffany is his life mate and he vows to change her thinking. His intentions are put on hold when he gets caught up in an angel of death's vicious plan to chemically terminate V clinic patients' pregnancies. Tiffany herself falls victim to a lethal dose of arsenic and Christian can only save her by turning her into a vampire. She's furious when she wakes from her turning and discovers what Christian has done. She wants nothing to do with him ever again, but when she's kidnapped by this angel of death and used as a guinea pig for deadly experiments she only has Christian to turn to save her life.

4.5 - It had mystery, intrigue, romance, edgy, full of surprises, an all round good book. The main character Tiffany draws you into the story with her humanis. I’m making the word up. Lol. Tiffany is us, someone that speaks her mind, isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, is socially awkward, needs to grow up, but as you get to know her, you realize that beneath that brass exterior is someone that will love fiercely, and once trust is given will have a love that we can only dream about. Christian a doctor vampire (don’t see many of these in this genre lol) is Tiffany’s perfect match. He slowly peels back the layers to reveal the true Tiffany beneath that hardened exterior. Christian is a genuinely nice vampire with a strength of character that you always want in your male leads even in their alpha persona. The story keeps you on your toes with its twists and turns, plots and subplots all wrapped in an engrossing mystery. This story has a different take on vampires in human society that I found interesting. You don’t find many that isn’t all about keeping everything hidden from humans. In this story humans and vampires work together in society rather than in the shadows.
The only downside I truly had was while I liked Tiffany in the end it took more time for me to connect with her than I normally find in my female leads. I’m not a fan of the main character being hard on those around her. I’m not expecting a perfect character but there is a fine line between bitchiness and being a bitch and for me that line was crossed several times which made it hard for me to form that connection with Tiffany early on. All in all a very good read.

Dark Experiments Book 2 in the Forever and a Night Series edition by Lana Campbell Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
Interesting plot to the story and let's face it we are not short on the supply of Vampire romance novels. Saying that they are all best sellers because if they are good they can take you away from the stress of work and life. They can take you to a far off place, you can become friends of the characters, reach into the authors mind and enjoy a riveting yet romantic story.
The words became pictures as you build the characters in your mind, as you feel their pain and emotions.
When I finished it I was not knocked out, it was not the best novel I have ever read, but I do want to read book 2; Forever and a Night Dark Experiments. That tells me I loved it and she did what she is supposed to do.
Dark Experiments Book 2 Lana Campbell
An intense love story between vampire and human, one that starts off casual, but develops into something more. The romance is hot, complicated, and realistic. The action is engaging, and the world-building and writing style is well done. I don’t often like vampire books, and though I didn't read the first novel before this one, I will definitely be reading more!
Romance continues to be the most popular literary genre according to most surveys, with paranormal romance being a prevalent subgenre. Mystery/thriller/suspense tends to come in second. So how could you go wrong with a Paranormal Romance Mystery? With a love affair between Tiffany Peebles, a human, and Dr. Christian La Mond, a vampire, in the midst of attacks by an unknown serial killer, that’s exactly where I’d put Forever and a Night Dark Experiments by Lana Campbell.
The basic romance plot is fairly standard, with boy and girl experiencing a strong romantic attraction, then complications ensue – in this case, the girl feeling she doesn’t fit in the boy’s world and that he deserves better. And the rest of the romance story is them trying to overcome that hurdle. There is additional spice, of course, as we’re talking about a human and a vampire, so we have twice the suggestive scenes, some of which are rather explicit but always done tastefully. Running parallel to this story is a good murder mystery. It’s intense, especially considering the targets of the killer and the author provides a couple of good twists. In fact, for me, this was the best part of the book – it gave the story an edge that kept me turning the pages.
Christian La Mond as the vampire doctor is a bit stereotypic in everything but his species. He’s the ruggedly ‘beautiful,’ transplanted Texan in cowboy boots and pickup truck. Tiffany, on the other hand, is anything but stereotypic. As a self-described computer nerd, one might think quiet and socially inept. She is, in a way, but she also has a temper, is an outdoor sports enthusiast, has a sharp tongue, and is somewhat self-centered and emotion-driven in her initial reactions to situations (later retracting her outbursts). Her maturation is one of the main themes of the story and is quite well done.
There are a few areas where this book could be improved. First, there are some minor editing issues – sentences with missing words, words used incorrectly, and the like. These are, as I said, minor, but have a tendency to pull you out of the make-believe world for a moment to reconcile them. Second, on a more technical level, melding two different genres is always tricky, and there are places where the romance and the suspense in this book seem to clash. Romantic shenanigans in the same setting as a killing spree requires some delicate balancing. There is also some unnecessary repetition and a little tightening of dialog and plot would have helped the pacing.
Overall, if you’re looking for a Paranormal Romance Mystery, with some solid roots in the mystery genre and some interesting character development, Forever and a Night Dark Experiments is worth the read.
How many times have you felt you don’t belong somewhere? That becomes more poignant when you feel you don’t belong in your lover’s world. Even more so when it’s a long-time friend you’ve always thought about having a fling with. This is the situation Tiffany finds herself in her relationship with the vampire, Christian.
They are given a chance to explore their love when she gets to work with him. It becomes a bit too intense, but Christian won’t let her back away. However, when they are attacked, there is only one way to save her. Of course, his actions piss her off. She walks away, only to be dragged back into his world via a kidnapping.
The characters are strong and their relationship is complex and believable, despite the paranormal aspects of the world. The mystery aspects are well-planned and while some dialogue got a little ponderous, it was a delightful read.
